Meet Lauren Jeffcoat, the owner and founder of Be Soulfish, a 40-something wife and mom who strives to find a balance between family, work, happiness and health. Lauren is a down-to-earth yogi with a knack for healing hearts and cracking jokes. Raised in the North but permanently migrated and rooted in the South, she found her Zen amidst the waves and salty air, realizing early on that life’s too short for stress and too long for bad vibes.
Lauren’s yoga journey kicked off while on a pursuit of finding pain relief and zen in the midst of injuries and chaos. After practicing for over a decade, she decided to complete her Yoga certification and begin sharing her love of movement with others. With certifications in Reiki, Sound Healing, Pilates, Buti Yoga, Barre, SUP Yoga and more (seriously, the woman collects certifications like they’re Pokémon cards), she’s a one-woman wellness powerhouse.
Teaching yoga isn’t just about striking poses for Lauren; it’s about creating a safe space for people to bend, stretch and release. Her classes are like mini therapy sessions with a side of sweaty mats and awkward balance poses. But don’t worry, she’ll laugh it off with you.
When she’s not busy twisting bodies into pretzels or chanting “om,” you can find Lauren championing environmental causes and fighting for social justice. Because, let’s face it, saving the planet and making the world a better place is the ultimate warrior pose.
And let’s not forget her pride and joy, “Be Soulfish,” the wellness center she founded where good vibes and incense are always in abundance. It’s like a zen oasis in a sea of chaos, where even the most stressed-out souls can find their inner peace (and maybe a gluten-free snack or two).
So, whether you’re a seasoned yogi or a newbie just looking to touch your toes without falling over, Lauren Jeffcoat is your go-to guru. With her contagious laughter and heart of gold, she’ll have you downward-dogging your way to enlightenment in no time. Namaste, y’all!
Hi Lauren …. So many classes to chose from which do you recommend for a 71 yr old beginner who has back issues and AMD (macular degeneration)? Love that this is available at the south end!
Hi Susan, I recommend starting with SoulFLOW or Yinyasa, as well as the pop up Isometric class this week. Feel free to email me for more info on any classes!
